The Driftless Area Restoration Effort is requesting project proposals to restore and conserve habitats that benefit brook trout, smallmouth bass, and/or nongame fish and herptile species. Federal funding available under the National Fish Habitat Action Plan through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will be used to fund top ranked proposals. All proposed projects should be developed in coordination with the La Crosse Fish and Wildlife Conservation Office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Applications must be received in electronic form by COB October 4, 2010 for following year funding. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of their project’s ranking score and funding status as that information becomes available.
